Dr. Audrey Hudson holds a PhD in Education from University of Toronto, where her work focused on Hip-Hop as a means of solidarity for Black and Indigenous youth. Dr. Hudson is an educator, artist and researcher who has been working consistently in art education and leadership for over two decades to activate socially engaged experiences.
Audrey is results oriented, forward thinker with an ambitious mindset, rooted in DEIA frameworks. Dr. Hudson aims to connect audiences with a pedagogical approach that share stories, objects, ideas and curiosity that engage cultural, social, and artistic thinking. Audrey is a forward-looking strategic leader, mentor and community builder.
Dr. Hudson has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at OCAD University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and University of Toronto. Upon graduation, Audrey joined the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in 2017 as the Manager of Schools and Early Learning, and in 2020, Dr. Hudson was appointed Richard & Elizabeth Currie Chief, Education & Programming. In 2024, Audrey took on the DEIA portfolio, and title now reflects the change--Chief, Education, Programming & Diversity at the AGO.
