I centre pedagogy because I love the exchange of knowledge that happens with learners, educators and community members. My teaching and research are intrinsically linked. My approach to teaching includes engaged pedagogy, critical thinking, creative problem solving, inquiry and reflection with space for critical thought and practice.
I began to genuinely think about my research as a value to others and myself when I entered my Masters in Education at York University and continued into my PhD at UT/OISE. Admittedly, I was cautious I would have to evade myself as an artist and educator become a valued researcher--I soon realized that was not the case. I found that research was a space where I could expand my ideas and practices into theoretical frameworks of understanding. My creative approach has continued to express and encapsulate futurities of learning with art and various audiences.
